how have you been? i've been okay thanks, though a little spaced since i got back from the far east. the day after returning to glasgow i was in doing a radio session/chat and i'd not picked the guitar up for a couple of weeks. it definitely showed i think, i'm not a very good guitarist and so i kind of fluffed a few chords and my performance was a little disjointed, but c'est la vie. chris was doing the session with me and he was great. he always is. he can play guitar with his eyes shut. i might blindfold him at the next gig to test this theory. he's also able to take the biggest swig of beer from a pint glass during the musical introduction of a live song that i've ever seen. if you don't believe me check out the video for 'dream #4365' on the video page of this website.
so we did a couple of songs, i answered a few questions and had a chat. it's for the billy sloan show on clyde 1Fm, a radio station serving central scotland. it was a good learning experience for me. i know now to take one headphone off and leave one on when doing a session. i'm not sure exactly when it'll be broadcast, june sometime i think.
oh, the album is out across the UK on 13th june. it got a little delayed but it's back on schedule. i'm really looking forward to the gigs that are coming up, they're posted on the news page so maybe come along if you're free and in either glasgow, aberdeen, osaka, tokyo or edinburgh. more will be revealed soon i think.
i can't write any more songs. my minidisc player is broken you see, so i'm scared of picking up the guitar in case a song comes. it'll be lost forever and that would trouble me more than not writing one for some bizarre reason. everything seems to be breaking these days; my computer, my minidisc player and my heart. ah, i kid. my heart is okay. it just seems to get bruised from time to time.
i got an mp3 player! i'm really enjoying walking around town with endless (well, 2000) musical options at my fingertips. it's great. yesterday i visited the mitchell library with storytelling by belle and sebastian blaring in my ears. i love that record, it's just great. one of my favs.
i need some tasty food. nasi goreng would be great. i think i'll learn to cook. every meal i had in malaysia and indonesia was delicious. without fail. i was like pavlov's dog before meals, dribbling in anticipation. then i get back and i'm eating beans on toast and ham sarnies with all the appeal of an ITV reality tv show. i need flavour. i need to excite my tastebuds. i need coriander.
hello. here are some things i've seen over the last few weeks...
an emirates airline meal

dubai airport

kuala lumpur

air asia safety instructions and a can of sprite

bali

clydebank business park

i might add some more in over the next few days. i'm feeling slightly unusual. i want to be moving again.
i'm looking forward hugely to going to these places to play some shows. hooray :)
