as if by magic some new bits and pieces have arrived on the site. there's a downloadable single and some really great original artwork created by kazutoshi yasunaga, along with updated facts relating to the album, a shop that'll be selling the imported cd soon, new soundclips in the listen section... talk about throwing new web guru chris leonard in at the deep end. both chris and yasu have been really patient and i'm very grateful for their work.
so where are these magical new things that are supposed to have appeared on this site then ally? well, i'm just waiting for a few bits and pieces to be sorted before some things spring onto the site. there, that's suitably vague. i noticed today that the messageboard/guestbook is broken. it's falling to pieces! but it'll be fine. i'm sure it will be. new things will appear soon.
the release date for the record in japan is apparently 3rd of may now and it'll be available (amongst other places) in hmv japan and amazon japan. oh, my new web guru is chris leonard who is replacing graeme renfrew as he's gone to whore himself around capital city. thanks for all the website / bass / yarning duties graeme. as well as being an expert at all these kind of techy things, chris is also a very talented guitarist and he'll be accompanying me on guitar at some acoustic shows that i'm currently sorting out as well as being part of the new band lineup that includes alan and james.
so things will appear. soon. honestly. it's been a really busy time. i've not even had time to worry too much, which is worrying. speaking of worries, you can leave your worries behind here and help an art student graduate from college http://anxiaries.furrycookie.ca/main.html
i'd never seen 'midnight cowboy' before saturday, it's a film i'd always meant to watch but never have for whatever reason. i know it's over thirty years too late and it's completely redundant what i think of a film from 1969, but it's on my mind still and i loved it so i'll share my thoughts. to me it was like a cross between 'withnail and i' (another great film with argueably better / more memorable dialogue) meets the steinbeck book 'of mice and men'. it's one of those films whose characters stay with you when the credits end and the white dot on the tv screen fades to black. well it did with me anyway. they're still there, especially ratzo.
i've not watched tv since i came back from my trip. in fact i lie, i did watch frasier coz it's still razor sharp and it's a real shame it's being canned. great movies, books and records are what i wanna file my time with. that and making my own music, writing and rehearsing. i've written a couple of new songs very recently and i'm liking them both at the moment. i've also put together a new band and rehersals have just got underway with an aim to doing a launch gig for the album in june. the album will be available to buy in may, details of which will be posted in the news section of the site just once everything is in place. oh and soundclips soon. i realise i keep saying it but i really mean it now!
so my tv's been made redundant and so has my toastie machine. that chrome beauty hasn't seen any action since before i went off to the far east. that's a long time to not be dripping in cheddar you know. in a toastie machine's life that's pretty much game over. as you know, leave a toastie machine for more than a month and i'm afraid he's binned faster than one of my home made curries. which is a whole new story. never get me to make you any food if i ever invite you over for dinner, honestly. unless u fancy licking mushy rice and lumpy madras off a linoleum floor with your tongue.
