sorry i'm not a good, healthy blogger these days. it's genuinely coz i'm so so busy and i think that doing what i can to ensure the safe passage of this record into the wilderness takes priority over pretty much everything just now. i'm trying to do too much all at once i think and my little brain is in meltdown. apart from record related things i've been doing, i've also been immersed in recording some demos in a very rough way on a computer with a crappy mic and some cups in my flat. there are lots of things still to do. but that's a good thing, it's all one big happy distraction and i like that. the site will have a little bit of a spring clean too and clips and a video will be there, i promise. i keep listening to the byrds at the moment......always good to listen to as we hurtle head first into spring. that and cherry blossom girl.
hi. i'm ally. i've not blogged for ages coz i've been away in the far east and i still feel like i'm away coz my head's in a different place right now. this is a good thing though coz i'm looking at the life i'm living from a different perspective and it feels interesting again and it's kind of reignited my interest in alot of things, if that makes sense.. there's things i wanna do differently and challenges i wanna put myself though. distance alters perception i guess. it's always good to step out of yourself and look at the bigger picture, definitely.
on a musical front it's looking like my album is coming out on may 10th in japan through japanese label 'quince records' and should be available in other territories after this. it's all being sorted out just now and for the next few weeks/months, but as of may 10th it will be available to buy in japan, available to those outside of japan through my site's shop (definitely and to any where in the world) and then it'll (again hopefully) start appearing in other places that sell records outside of japan. i'm really looking forward to getting it out there and i'm really excited about recording some of the new songs i've written too. i've got the title for the next album in my head and i can see where it's going, but this album will be what i'm focussing on for a good while. sound clips are done and they'll be going up at the beginning of april.
okay, that'll do for now. i'm just dipping my toe into the world of blog again but it feels quite pleasant so far.
excuse my tardiness with blogs. i'm very far away from where i usually am you see and for a while everything is different. i'm about 12,000 miles away i think. for most of this week i've been on a beautiful island in the south china sea called redang. it is stunning. being as white as a sheet and with the sun being so bright i got turned into a lobster, but it was worth it. i'm still very far away from where i usually am too right now as i type. i'm in malaysia's capital kuala lumpur. it's hot but it's somehow comforting to have this warm blanket around me, especially as i know i'd be cold back home. i think i'll stop here coz i'm trying to get away from everything i'm used to at home for just a little while, i think i need to you know. i think that's healthy sometimes.
